Cheerleaders don't only inspire enthusiasm and school spirit in both fans and players, but they're also part of their own sport, displaying strength, agility, and coordination. Cheerleading showcases talents in dance, gymnastics, and choreography.
Dad's Club cheerleading is offered for children in Grades 3 through 8 and is divided into two teams - 3rd/4th-grade and 5th-8th grade. On the 3rd/4th grade team, the children begin to build the foundation of cheerleading by learning basic cheers and sidelines. The 5th-8th grade participants learn more sophisticated routines and stunts. Since each team member has an important role in the routine and stunt formations, committed participation is important.
The season begins with a week of Cheerleading Camp at the end of August. The team has one mandatory weekly practice on Fridays immediately after school. The season usually begins the first week of September and finishes at the end of October.
Cheerleading Camp runs from Monday, August 27th to Thursday, August 30th with specific times TBA. Team members will learn most of the season's cheers and routines during this week. Although camp is not mandatory, we strongly recommend that your child attends.
The participation fee is $160.
